Position Overview
Wild Rivers Habitat for Humanity is seeking a Restore Director who will oversee the two profitable Restores, located in Spooner and St Croix Falls, WI. The ReStores have evolved over the years to sell more than used cabinetry, lighting, hardware, and other household fixtures, expanding to include new paint, appliances, antiques and decorative household items. The ReStores are a critical funding source for Wild Rivers, in addition to donations and grants. Annual store sales have made it possible to help build and repair more homes with families in NW Wisconsin.
The ReStore Director will oversee the team of store staff and volunteers at both locations. Director will divide time at each store location in addition to the administrative office located in Spooner, WI. Store Site Managers report directly to the ReStore Director; the Director reports to the Habitat for Humanity Executive Director. The Director will have the guidance of an organizational strategic plan and an effective Restore business plan, providing a clear path forward with priorities against which success can be measured.
The ReStore Director will be a goal-oriented leader that supports a culture of continuous improvement, serving as the point person to their team on business strategy, leading financial management, safety compliance, facilities management, and human resources. The Restore Director is also a part of the Habitat for Humanity leadership team, working with the Operations team within Wild Rivers to share insights and create positive impact.
Responsibilities
- Monitor income and expenses, manage to budget
- Orient, train and supervise store staff and volunteers
- Oversee store layout and merchandising
- Maintain and enforce policies and procedures relating to ReStore daily operations
- Maintain and execute consistent policies and procedures between stores.
- Ensure risk management practices and policies are implemented as appropriate.
- Ensure that the ReStores are compliant with state and federal laws
- Develop and implement strategies for soliciting and recognizing contributions and support of potential suppliers and donors
- Collaborate with operations team to develop brochures and other materials describing the advantages of ReStore contributions
- Determine sales strategy, target markets and new retail locations through market analysis and sales data analysis
- Oversee the administration of the online store
- Cross-sell other Habitat programs when appropriate
- Provide program reports on a timely basis when requested
- Work with Habitat families and other stakeholders involved in the store
- Attend Habitat events

Required Skills and Experience
- Proficient in various technical programs for business purposes, including MSOffice (Word and Excel), Outlook, Microsoft Teams; familiarity with POS software, a plus.
- Ability to work effectively with P&L statements and a budget
- Demonstrated independent responsibility for program management and accomplishing results
- Experience supervising staff
- Retail experience, a plus
- Ability to work on Saturdays regularly, with a Sunday/Monday “weekend”
- Ability to travel regularly between store locations, mileage reimbursement provided
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds (more on occasion); occasional exposure to extremes in weather
Salary range is $32,000 - $38,000, based on experience.
