About Us

Wild Rivers Habitat for Humanity (WRHFH) brings people together to build strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter in Burnett, Polk, Rusk and Washburn Counties in Wisconsin.

An affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, WRHFH builds and repairs homes using in kind gifts, donations and volunteers to offer a hand up, not a hand out, to those in need of decent and affordable housing. Since forming in 1997, WRHFH has constructed 46 new homes and completed over 400 projects through our home repair and painting programs.

Mission

Using the resources God has given us to eliminate poverty housing in North West Wisconsin and beyond.

Vision

Where every person has access to decent houses in decent communities, can experience God’s love, and is able to grow into all that God intends.

Values

Wild Rivers Habitat for Humanity partners with groups of organizations that wish to further living and working conditions in our area and around the world. We will construct and repair modest adequate housing in partnership with other organizations with similar missions to ours and to witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the world.

  1. By working with God’s people in need to create a better habitat in which to live and work.
  2. By working in cooperation with other agencies and groups which have kindred purpose.
  3. By exemplifying the Gospel of Jesus Christ through loving acts and the spoken and written word.
  4. By enabling an expanding number of people from all walks of life to participate in this ministry.

By using all of our words and actions for the purpose of putting shelter on the hearts and minds of people in such a way that poverty housing and homelessness become socially, politically and religiously unacceptable in our area and around the world.
