The Emergency Assistance Program provides one time, short-term financial support for eligible individuals and families facing urgent housing-related needs, specifically for rent or mortgage payments. This program is designed to help prevent eviction or foreclosure during times of crisis, ensuring that individuals and families can remain in their homes. This is a one time assistance program. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
Our goal is to offer a safety net for those facing temporary financial hardship and help stabilize housing situations in our community. This is made possible through an initial grant provided by the St. Croix Valley Foundation.
Applicants must reside in our service area, provide income verification items, a copy of the rental agreement/lease, and a copy of a mortgage or rental statement showing delinquency. Assistance is capped at $500 per application and will be paid directly to the mortgage lender/bank or landlord. Funds are limited and are available on a first come, first serve basis.
Start by completing our pre-application survey—this is the first step in determining your eligibility for support. Click the link to begin your application today!
