At Wild Rivers Habitat for Humanity, it is believed that everyone deserves a decent place to live. Since its founding in 1997, Wild Rivers has been dedicated to building strength, stability, and self-reliance through affordable homeownership and critical home repairs in Polk, Burnett, Rusk, and Washburn Counties and surrounding communities in Ashland, Bayfield, Douglas, Price and Taylor Counties in Wisconsin.
Our History
Wild Rivers Habitat for Humanity was established to address the growing need for safe, affordable housing in the communities it serves. Over the years, Wild Rivers has expanded its programs to include home construction, home repairs, and accessibility modifications, ensuring that families, veterans, seniors, and individuals in need have the opportunity to live in safe and healthy homes. Through the dedication of volunteers, donors, and community partners, Wild Rivers continues to make a lasting impact.

Habitat for Humanity has a non-proselytizing policy that ensures its work is inclusive and does not promote religious beliefs. Habitat for Humanity does not proselytize or attempt to convert people to a particular faith. The organization welcomes people of all faiths and no faith to serve in its mission to build affordable housing for those in need. While Habitat’s Christian roots are part of its history, the organization’s primary goal is to provide safe, decent, and affordable housing regardless of religious background. This approach ensures that Habitat's work remains focused on its core mission of providing housing, while respecting the diverse beliefs and backgrounds of the individuals and communities it serves.
